My Story

Balancing Order and Freedom

I have been working in software development for my entire professional life. I am currently a quality assurance and compliance director for a medical device software company. So much of this work is about details, rules, and order, which I totally LOVE. However, this is only part of me. I also love being creative and creating without a script…without rules…without order…freedom of expression!

Importance of Wellness

As I was approaching 50 in September 2021, I felt a sense of needing to take my wellness seriously - raising it to a higher priority. There are many facets of wellness, but for me this meant, spiritual, physical, mental, and creative. And, they are all intertwined.

Physical: I started (and am still) exercising regularly. I am also counting macros and eating more protein. My goal is to get to my goal weight and MAINTAIN! I am a princess at losing weight, but I am a QUEEN at gaining it back!

Spiritual: I am studying the bible, not just reading books by other people, but reading the words for myself and trusting the Holy Spirit to help me understand.

Creative: I am prioritizing painting and making things. I also take online art classes regularly from my favorite artists, and experiment with new mediums and supplies.

Mental: For me, all of the above practices help with my mental wellness, but getting rest and experiencing calmness is crucial.

My Creative Business

An even bigger part of this wellness journey, is wanting to help other women with their wellness. My focus will be on your spiritual and creative wellness. That is why I started Cathy W Creates! We will be combining bible study with creative projects! It is going to be so much fun!
